Holding Tanks
Holding tanks are used when the waste stream is corrosive, toxic, flammable or heavily loaded with oxygen demanding or a public sewer system is not available. Such untreated waste can physically damage the plumbing as well as upset the wastewater treatment plant that receives the waste. Laboratories, industrial facilities, hospitals, aircraft hangar fire protection systems as well as residents, and apartment complexes are examples where holding tanks may be used.
