Project Information:
The Brockman Hall for Physics at Rice University is a 110,000 sqft facility that includes vibration and noise controlled underground laboratories to support work in atomic, molecular and optical physics; biophysics; condensed matter physics; nanotechnology. and photonics. The building allows Rice to create a state-of-the-art facility that meets the exacting requirements of modern physics and to consolidate its research in fundamental and applied physics. In addition to vibration control, laboratories in the building have substantially better temperature, humidity and air-flow control. The building is certified LEED silver and completed in 2011.
All the laboratories plumbing systems within Brockman Hall are protected by the LabTank Ceramic Acid Neutralization system with pH monitoring. Manufactured by ParkUSA, the LabTank system is as high-tech as the experiments being conducted inside the facility. The LabTank will provide years of service protection for the plumbing systems.
