Project Information:
With the expanding crowds at Houston Cougar football games the University of Houston needed to incorporate a larger stadium to facilitate their needs. Originally renovations to the current Robertson Stadium were considered, however due to size and structure the decision was made to construct a complete new stadium.

The University of Houston will open their new football stadium currently named Houston Football Stadium in August of 2014. Located in the Stadium District of the campus the new stadium directly replaces Robertson Stadium after it was demolished in 2012. The new stadium seats a minimum of 40,000 people, 8,000 more than the maximum capacity of Robertson Stadium. The lower level concourse will be a complete bowl. Premium seating will be located at the main level on the north and south side of the field. Above the premium seating and end zones there will large upper decks to provide more seating. Amenities for the stadium include 160 concession stands, 18 primary restrooms, 38 secondary restrooms, and 2 large locker rooms for the teams.

With the necessity to move clean water through the stadium and wastewater out, PARK provided environmental assistance on this project. PumpTrooper Lift stations were installed to guarantee water moved at its peak over the entire venue. Lift stations receive sanitary waste or storm water to move through collection systems. They can store the water yet in this case they were used to transfer the water in places natural gravity flow cannot take place.
