Univision Communications Inc. ("Univision") is the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States. This powerhouse portfolio includes Television, Radio, Music and Internet offerings that entertain and inform more Hispanics each day than any other media company in the country.
Univision Communications Inc. was in need of a fire protection, water storage tank for the newly built Houston offices. After consideration and research The Park® BreakTankTM was chosen as the best storage tank for their application.
Park® provided a 13’ wide by 20’ long and 17’-3” tall, 30,000 gal Fire BreakTankTM. This tank is a city approved single compartment model providing ample water supply for the building’s fire protection system.
Although this tank is as wide as a 2 lane highway, the tank was factory built and shipped complete to the job sight. After arrival to the job sight, the tank was set in it final resting place in less than two hours.
This BreakTankTM also featured a high/low level monitoring alarm to alert the risk of insufficient water or to alert of an overflow situation. The high level alarm can also be tied into the building automation system.
The BreakTankTM interior was coated with a thick film coating (30 mils) which will protect the tank for many years. The tank exterior was coated with a custom weather resistant coating chosen by the architect.
